New Baby In The House? Here’s Baby Stroller Safety Tips.

Having a new baby in the house is wonderful. And if you’re a parent bringing home your first baby you are soon to discover some of the wonderful ways your life has changed forever. And some of the inconveniences too. All of a sudden going out has just got a whole lot harder. You’re going to need to consider buying a baby stroller.

There are definitely some practical problems getting around with a new baby. And you’ll find that it suddenly becomes a 10 minute job to get into the car. How do you get out and about conveniently?

In the past you could buy a pram. A solid steel pram. It was solid and heavy, and very hard to fold up and put in the car. It was inconvenient. When you were going out you had to allow 20 minutes to get the pram and baby into the car.

But modern technology allows the manufacture of strollers that overcome these problems. They are lighter, fold up much better and are way easier to push, with bigger wheels.

The brakes should be good enough so that you can stop a fully loaded stroller on a good hill and the brakes will hold. But remember for safety never stop on a hill unless absolutely necessary. And even with the brakes on you should also stop across the hill rather than facing down.

And whilst I’m talking about safety there’s more. You should get a fully adjustable and solid safety harness that is anchored in 5 places. It should be done up tightly, there have been accidents in the past where baby has been able to stand up in a pram or stroller.

And as safety is always so important here’s 2 more tips. Make sure you never leave baby in the stroller is you’re going up stairs. Try and find a lift, or if necessary take baby out of the stroller.

And lastly, don’t tie your dog lead to the stroller if you’re taking the dog. You could well find that suddenly the dog takes off, the stroller follows, and baby is gone.
